The pre-event workshop took place in Washington D.C. at the Crystal City Mariott. All teams involved in the Solar Decathlon were at the event, to obtain information, have important questions answered, and receive further inspiration for succeeding in the competition.
The organizers from NREL hosted the event, and set up the room to give personal attention from each category of the competition. Issues such as safety, contest rules, media and sponsorship, and building code were addressed.
The trip for the workshop created a memorable bonding experience for the ENMAX SolAbode team, and brought on important clarifications for the competition rules.
During their stay in Washington, the team had dinner with Gary Mar and his family, the Alberta trade representative in Washington D.C. Meeting with Gary Mar gave the team an opportunity to further collaborate on pursuing the Embassy Event, which will take place on the roof top of the Canadian Embassy during the Solar Decathlon competition in October.
