Kim Murfin - Drawing & Procurement Manager
Kim is a recent graduate of the architectural technology program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). It was not until the third semester of her program that she realized sustainable design was a path she would like to follow. Through classmates she found out about the Alberta Solar Decathlon.
She found it to be a great experience in learning new techniques in building and working with all aspects of the project.
She followed the project from the beginning until August 2008 when she became involved in coordinating drawings, help with design, and construction. During the competition this fall, she will be leading a group of students in assembling and disassembling the house in Washington DC. When Kim is not working on the project, she enjoys pursuing her passion of skiing. She has taught both skiing and snowboarding for several years.
