Mike Gestwick – Project Engineer

Mike is a graduate student in the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester in New York and has worked construction management on small residential as well as large commercial projects.

As Project Engineer for the team, Mike brings his relevant work experience, educational background and graduate research to the Alberta Solar Decathlon project. Together they have developed the technological systems and critically reviewed them to ensure the highest performance standards.

In addition to this, Mike consults the project’s Design Team on major design decisions that affect the performance of the ENMAX SolAbode. Mike is confident the home will operate as a net-zero energy residence while maintaining expected levels of comfort and ensuring all the needs of the homeowner are met.
