Controls Systems
The SolAbode uses advanced controls technology to operate the heating and cooling system and also to log data about the energy performance of the home. This system works in conjunction with a home automation system called Control4, a system built on wireless ZigBee technology. The home automation system provides a pleasant interface for the homeowner to control certain elements of the home. Through wireless switches, touchpads or even an iPhone, the homeowner is able to set the desired temperature of the home, turn on or dim any of the LED lights, open or close the exterior blinds and fire-up the SolAbode’s high performance audio/video system.
With this system the homeowner can pre-program certain “scenes” which he or she can then execute with the press of a button. For example, if you want to quickly set the mood for a romantic dinner or to watch a movie simply select your pre-programmed scene and the home does the rest! (Sorry, the home can’t prepare the food for that romantic dinner, current technology does have its limits.)
